My greenhouse build is almost done. So I'll be building my aquaponics system soon. I'm going to use an ibc tote for the fish, then going to a bead filter with air stone. I want to grow a wide variety of vegetables. I've been studying aquaponics for the last month and feeling over whelmed.

In my traditional garden, I was growing tomatoes, green beans, peas, peppers, tomatoes, strawberries, carrots, cucumbers, various squash, and leaf lettuce. So will I need to do a wide variety growing spaces like Dutch buckets for tomatoes and peppers, media beds for carrots, vertical towers for strawberries, and raft beds for lettuce and so forth?

how tall is your tomatoes ?

the species of tomato I grew this last season where about 2 feet to 3 feet. I'm in Tennessee, US I probably should have mentioned we're in Winter. I'm hoping to cycle my aquaponics system in time for the start of growing season in February. So all new plants will be started.
What kind of fish?

I tried Aquaponics with blue tilapia, I couldn't get the balance between the fish and the plants right...gave up and split the systems...grew out the tilapia in a 20' x 4' above ground swimming pool and grew plants in hydroponic systems mainly Dutch buckets and NFT... keeping the water warm enough in the winter and cool enough in the summer was a challenge and costly....the other thing that I didn't notice until I went to clean them and put them in the freezer is they have big heads and you end up a small fillet after you cut the head behind the gills and cut the tail off.... I wish you luck...
