Doing the Kratky method! Total noob tho. I have my lettuce and cherry tomatoes going but I have a couple of concerns..

I have a cat, she loves to hang out under the light with my plants, she leaves them alone but will the fur cause any issues?

Also, are they considered leggy?

Why did my lettuce leaf get stringy in the middle on my second plant?

Make sure the animals aren't licking or chewing on anything up there. Contamination from any type of possible waste matter to your plants can cause bacterial growth. It's how Ecoli is spread. Animals step in their own waste (outside or cat litter) groom themselves and then lick or eat your plants..... Possibility of contamination. Same reason you wash anything before you use it to mix nutrients up for your plants, you don't want to get anything in your system

also fur on your lettuce might give you "hair balls"

use a slightly larger net pot so roots can spread laterally, review your nutrients, keep the water above 14C and below 20C.

Lighting will always be a debate amongst growers. The basics (and I'm sure most will agree for just the basics) is keep the lights as close to your plants as you can without causing heat related exposure, if you're using lights that aren't LED and produce heat. Cause if you lack intensity on your lights, your plants will always stretch to get more light. I only say this cause I can't tell how far away your lights are but even your tomatoes look leggy for that early on. There's way more to the knowledge of lighting but proximity will be somewhere to start til we all know more about your set up. Good luck

I think I should start over.. My germination stations lid is really tall so that didn't help much and I'm sure they're pretty contaminated by my cat and these damn stink bugs.. Probably gonna find a way to inclose them and find a shorter lid.

I have the 2 inch net cups and the water is only covering a half an inch on the bottom
