Triggering on my first setup. was hoping to get some input on the things on my list. so here we go!!! nothing huge, just a standard DWC tub for about 9 herb plants and a 5gal DWC for a pepper plant. these are not for germination...they will stay in their homes.

Pump:
VIVOSUN Air Pump 1110 GPH 8 Outlet 50W 70L/min Commercial Air Pump
Light:
King Plus 1200w LED Grow Light Full Spectrum
Air Stones
4 inch Round Air Stone Bubbler

Think about taking the cost of 1 light and getting 2 lights , peppers could benefit from a cob light and your herbs can go on something like a t8 led shelf

      cob led grow light

      yueme led grow light

So those lights are amazing for large plants heavy fruiting or budding for some people trolling through in colorado

im also sitting on several of these i had to purchase for a work event. thoughts if they would be efficient for growth? they do tend to throw off a bit of heat off the backs.

      perfect supplemental lights

    • Brian Lloyd

so you think maybe 2 of those COB's and a few of these LED panels?

    • Ross Bauer

sounds like it's a good shot

thanks for all the back and forth! first venture down the hydro route. i usually grow all my herbs outdoors...but in ohio the season is short. and i cook...ALOT. and always am wanting super fresh herbs and not paying even my discounted prices lol.

I love to build new systems and just push what I can grow in a house lol , once I get my wall system filled it hopefully freed those in need but generate donations to create more , I got a idea that will let me do corn

nice. any experience with grow tents? i will be growing in my basement...so not sure if one would be "needed" or if thats a bit more for the advanced

    • Ross Bauer

What's your humidity like ? If decent then you should be ok but a grow tent let's you get even more control of the environment problem is your super constrained for space

    • Brian Lloyd

ill start w/o one and go from there :) got a whole root cellar in my basement that im thinking of using. so like 6ftx20ft attached to my main basement

    • Ross Bauer

      Oh man I envy you

The one you listed is great for the peppers but just for what you're growing not sure it's the most effective use of electricity

      all about being more efficient

I think this so what you mean. I built this for a perpetual indoor harvest of herbs. Basil is living it so far!
