Where do I get plans to build this system?

hydroponics is all about the diy attitude and making suit for the area you have. So many people ask about plans and stuff.. if you know the concept of how it's meant to work then anything is possible

Also things don't always go to plan. You need some good ol ingenuity to overcome problems and make it better.

Why? Where is the oxygen coming in?

Kratky. The air is just sitting in the top part of the vertical area under each plant just as if they were in jars or something. This system isn't hermetically sealed so it draws in when the nutrients are being used up

what is the rough cost of this and where are you based? I am interested in hydroponics but I feel like plumbing fittings must be more expensive where I live. Like those f to f junctions are like $27 (aud) here.

Google grow tube. Simple to build. I have 3' long tubes. There are several utubes out there. Good growing.

Yes, much cheaper systems to use than this. This was an experiment for me and probably for hydroponics in general. Lol

Yes, it is expensive for a kratky system. Don't get me wrong, there are much cheaper set ups to use. For me and my way of thinking is, I have this inside my sunroom of my house so I not only have people over to visit and they have to see my room but, it's a convenience thing for me too. If I were to have multiple totes to grow these in, I would also have multiple reservoirs to have to check on and top off as well, up to 11 separate systems to manage. So I built this and now I only have one to manage and less mess and hassle to get nutrient changes done.

I would up your game at this point and get yourself a drip system for each plant spot. This will increase your yield on a few crops and will keep your system running much better than air stones or kratcky. Just my 2 cents. Great looking system and for 20 bucks more would double yield.

I cannot run a drip system. I already have about 15 amps pulling on this one electrical branch circuit and do not need any additional moving or flowing parts. The Kratky works just fine for me for the amount of tomatoes I'm growing at a time.

tomatoes don’t like water on their leaves anyway so this looks perfect as is.

This system cost me right at $300 to build. The T's were $9 and the 90's were $8 plus a little pipe and I bought glue and a couple other things. So I can say a good, $250 for this 11 tomato system. But these aren't short growers, these will be in this system for over 3 months at a time. Unlike lettuce which gets harvested in 30 days

pretty cool system, thanks for sharing

I like it, was thinking about something like this myself but thought that the roots needed more room... your risers probably make up for that. I may give it a try
